Hello-
I have met several ESL teachers who teach children, and it appears to be quite easy to get a job to teach kids.
My issue is this...I have had little past experience with kids. It's not that I don't like them, just that my lifestyle doesn't involve many children at this point in my life. So, no, I cannot evualate how well I interact with kids. I am not going for a Kindergarten teacher here in Canada, why should I do it abroad? What if I suck?
Logically, then, I am looking into teaching mature(er) students, because I know how I interact with adults here at home (usually good). Lastly, maybe gender plays a small role here in Canada, but does being a 20some, female play a larger role as an ESL teacher? Is there any advice out there on the pros and cons of adult vs. kids teaching?? |
