I'm a Canadian citizen currently looking for work in San Diego and had a quick question for those in the know. I'm wondering if the online CETSOL is worth it? I have a MA degree in Spanish (a definite plus in this part of the country) and two years teaching experience in a university, so the practical teaching component isn't of the utmost importance to me. I'm looking for work at colleges here in TESL (as a backup to Spanish), but they all require a TESL certificate, which I don't have. Would doing on online course be sufficient considering my prior teaching experience? |

We don't know what the employers in SD want. Why not ask one of them if they will accept the online certificate? |

When you say "colleges" do you mean university or community college? |

I haven't seen too many of either that have requested a TEFL certificate. Most require MAs. Then again, I've never applied for jobs in San Diego. (Would love to, though, it being my beautiful hometown! )
