I'm moving to Doha soon. Could someone who has shipped there from the states by air tell me which company or airline or agent or whatever they used? I'll be shipping from the Philadelphia area and just keep running into dead ends on my online searches. Fed Ex gave me some prices, but they are outrageous. There has got to be a cheaper way. I'll have no more than 10, probably a lot fewer boxes. Thanks.

USPS could be okay if the parcels are not too heavy. (US Postal Servioce ie Post office.)

Surface would be far cheaper than air, but will take a couple of months I guess.

Is it feasible for you to take it all with you and pay excess baggage?

I found that sending it air freight cost me about half of taking it as excess baggage. Of course, that is the most dependable way to have it there at the same time as your arrival... but, you pay through the nose for that benefit. Ten boxes would cost a small fortune as excess... Shocked

If you could cut it down to 2... The real question is what are you shipping and do you really need this stuff??? It is almost always cheaper to buy replacement things when you get there.

You are very correct about shipping things vs. just buying new ones!

Cory, for all we know you probably have a shipping allowance from your new employer. There are many shipping companies. Try http://www.wtxglobal.com for a quick quote online.

Good luck
