|
|
Well, I'm leaving in a week for Prague... I wasn't planning on bringing a laptop, as I'm assuming I will have access at the school I'm teaching at, as well as internet cafes. I have heard that it is quite costly to buy computers/electronics while in Prague. But I am noticing that a lot of flat ads have wifi... So I am wondering what to do..should I just get a cheap one to bring? Any thoughts or experience with this?
Thanks! |

Hi Beezy!
I definitely recommend to anyone coming from the States, and who is thinking of buying a laptop, to purchase their laptop in the States.
Expect to pay about a third more here for Macs (slightly less for other laptops).
You can pick up a wireless signal just about anywhere in the center of Prague and wifi cafe's are sprouting up quicker than you can say 'ahoj'.
The negative aspect though is that petty theft in Prague is high and many a laptop has been stolen so my recommendation is, if you are traveling about with a laptop, to stash it in a bag which doesn't look like the usual laptop-type bag.
Looking forward to the day when the $100 laptop project reaches Prague
Have a great trip over! |
