Riyadh is great for rock concerts. Riyadh Rocks, held in early November of every year is a fab event, with bands jammin' in the streets down around the DQ, big gigs at the football stadium, and impromptu sessions in all the big malls.

I hear the Stones will be there for 08, with Greenday, Red Hot Chilli Pepers and many others on the bill too.

Shakira will be headlining this year. If SusanWW is looking for something to do in Saudi, this would be a great gig for her to go to.
I am concentrating all my efforts on surviving each day. Every minute, every hour. Talk about eternal war! You're fighting the clock. And the calendar. Each day ticked off is like a battle won, but the only way to win the war is with an EOV.

This must be the only country (?) listed here on Dave's where a good percentage of people are actively wishing their days away. What a phenomenon!
NOT TRUE!!! Shocked

Hey Van, I use to teach in both public and private primary schools in the US. I can tell you that not only did we mark off each day but the battles were never won! I went home with a headache almost everyday. I taught 6 year olds by day and played mommy 24/7 with my little girls who were 2 and 3 at the time. The mommy job does not pay over time. Have you ever walked out the door to go to work and your kid "explodes" with diaharea? (please correct my spelling)
There I was wishing my days away in America! At leat your getting paid for your work. US schools pay crappy, and a lot is deducted for healthcare, daycare, union dues, and uncle sam. I have no life here so KSA will be perfect place for me to continue with my useless life.
See Van My life sucks too. The only difference is that you are getting paid for it.
Now Let me play a sad song for you on my violin. Razz
I have to admit, I do like your posts, and look forward to reading them.
Maybe you can get an Rx for Prozac? Just kidding! Maybe I need it more than you....hmmmm! Very Happy

One thing about working in Saudi is that it's very easy. I think the illustrious 'most people' would agree with this. The only stress you're going to suffer is hypo-stress!
