Furnished singles in compounds in Jeddah run from 30K to 40K.

Riyadh is going to be similar to that. Others can confirm.

P.S. Bananas are pretty cheap in SA, so you won't have much trouble staying happy here! Razz

Desert travler why don't you go to a tanning salon before you arrive in the KSA. That way you won't have to feel like a white monkey. Just joking, I think the offer sounds fair, but I don't live in KSA. I heard that the Diplomatic Quarters are a nice place to live in Riyadh. Best of luck to you! Very Happy

Do they have tanning salons in europe?

This is so crazy, white people tan to look brown, and the brown people buy cream to lighten their skin. Rolling Eyes

'white monkey' is in the Far East(Korea/China/Japan). In Saudi you will be a "Khawaja" or "Frenji".

A monkey ? No, they will not see you as a monkey. A heretic in need of conversion perhaps.

In this culture it is a BIG taboo to compare a human to an animal - even if that human is a Republican-voting WASP.
