|
|
Hello everyone! I have a few questions about teaching in China.
1) What is the average salary? I just thought in South Korea for three years and I was wondering how they compare.
2) Do the schools pay accomodation and return airfare?
3) Can anyone tell me more about Ximen, China? I am interested in this area.
4) Is internet access readily available in Ximen or other parts of China? I would need access at home.
5) Has anyone done any writing for China papers ? |

Have you tried doing a search or gone through the first 20 pages of the job-related forum?
(1) It depends where you teach and how many hours you teach. Salary ranges from under 3000 RMB in some state-run colleges to over 10,000 RMB a month at some international schools.
(2) Yes -- though some only pay one-way airfare for one-year contract, and many schools give housing allowance instead of providing free housing.
(3) www.google.com
(4) ADSL is now commonly available in towns and cities.

Xiamen is a nice place to visit or live - been there many times.
Salaries in china are low by most standards.
The Internet exists in china... But can be slow and highly censored.
You can write for chinese media - if you can get a job.
Schools should pay your 2 way airfare if you work there for 1 year. Sometimes they pay the full amount sometimes an agreed amount. |
