Has it ever crossed your mind that maybe some people don't place money as the top priority?

I've never worked in Korea, but every person I've met who has, has said nothing but negative things about Korea when comparing the two countries. Not once has one of these negative things been about money.

And, Saint Moi, just to throw a spanner in your works, I'm on the verge of, hopefully, making it from Japan to Korea

well, for me, I have the best paying job I have had in ESL. I have a good boss. I get 150,000 yen a year for materials. I have learned more about teaching and education than I would at a typical EFL gig. But my job is not typical. I have a M.A. in TESOL, and it was a requirement for my job.
The thing was, without connections, I wouldn`t have my job.
I had an interview over the phone when I was in Warsaw (I taught at a Polish university before teaching in Japan).

In Japan, to do well, teachers need at least a M.A. and should get serious about learning Japanese. By that I mean they should take a Japanese language test and try to improve and learn kanji.
I find that kanji is easier for me (especially writing) but that grammar gets tougher.

Japan has changed. It is getting harder to get the good jobs.

In Korea, I think it is easier to get a job at a university than Japan. At a Korean university job, teachers can get four months off a year.
I think Korea is a place where it is better to have expeience before going there. Some people can manage it, but I think people should get experience somewhere else first.
