Check out this article which suggests that TEFL teachers in Turkey who engage in regular physical exercise are not only more intelligent, but also more capable of engaging their students in the classroom.

There is a process in the brain which makes people more intelligent when they engage in regular physical exercise. The exercise should be one that taxes the aerobic system primarily (running, biking, swimming, walking). Pure weight training is less effective for this purpose. You don't see many weight lifters with PhD's - but there are countless marathon runners with the title 'Doctor' next to their name. The key is aerobic exercise releases endorphins which in turn provide more oxygen and clear thinking to the brain. This makes for enhanced overall intelligence.

Teachers who never exercise in Turkey are doing a disservice to their bodies, their teaching careers and to the students they teach. Students naturally prefer to deal with youthful, vigorous teachers, rather than out of shape teachers. All teachers in Turkey should aim for at least 45 minutes aerobic exercise per day.

I hope you chastise the teachers in Korea as much as us. We get the message, promise.

As soon as I finish my teaching job in September I will be taking regular exercise. As I currently work 12 hrs a day (teaching and working in a factory) and am exhausted, believe me when I say there is no time.

We are adults. We know it's important to be healthy. Enough!

Ghost doesn't post to educate .... it posts to promote its own way of life as the best way of life ... to help itself get over the fact that it is a being of no substance ...

Ghost, you have lots of advice about diet and exercise. Any advice about aging? I am sure I do..... but I've forgotten.
