Hi.
I have a question re: visa process for Taiwan.
I am going to Taiwan in mid-October. I've been told by the recruiter I'm working with that I will need to get a round-trip ticket to show at the TECO office. He recommended I get a refundable ticket and then just get the refund after I obtained the visa.
The only trouble is that I may have trouble finding the money for a refundable ticket, as these cost upwards of $3000 on Expedia and Travelocity. Are there any other alternatives for getting a cheaper refundable ticket? |

Of course! It's pretty simple.
Fly in from wherever you are (e.g. US or Europe) to somewhere like Manila, Hong Kong or Macau. Then have a second ticket issued from that destination, an open return ticket to/from Taipei.
Good luck! |

and for the love of god dont book online....go to a travel agent....they are typically cheaper....even more so, go to a Chinese travel agency, they might be able to find you an even better deal |

Dear jrwilheim,
The previous two posters have given you the best advice possible.
Please read it carefully.....if you have any questions, then post again.
Best wishes as you prepare the big move to Taiwan.
