Thanks for that, Tarka. It is very reassuring to know that this is normal in Oman. I imagine one of my first learning experiences once I'm there is going to be to get used to a more laid back culture.

I received a phone call and about ten minutes later I was hired. Contract was in the email that evening. My E ticket arrived a week later. I leave for Oman this weekend. The contract [or offer of terms] was the fairest I have seen in over twenty years of teaching in remote parts of our world.
