Just in case you have'nt noticed this week marks the 10th anniversary of the death of Princess Diana . The boys are holding a service and guess who they have invited ? Yes, thats right , the wicked step mother , so do you think she should go ? Does she deserve to be there ? Most people who thought a lot of her (Diana ) think she has no right to be there ,any comments ?

Maybe it's time that the royal family were gotten rid off. They do all seem a little retarded don't you think? All that inbreeding.

Not the best idea really ! Getting rid of the Royal family would be a huge mistake despite what the Republicians and the great unwashed think . They will still be going strong long after we and our grandchildren are no longer here .
After all the crap you read about thats going down over there ,its still the one instuition thats worth keeping !

I thought this thread was going to be about Gul being carted off to prison...... or football. I have a bit more respect for the young chaps. Educated at Sandhurst and prepared for war.Harry wants to go to Iraq with his regiment. Then told he was not allowed to go off and fight in Iraq. That would never have happened in Scot47's time.

An unelected head of state and privileged family is not democratic. Plus, they're a laughing stock.

Power to the people!

Says who ! You sound like one of those mindless street dwellers another member of the have not brigade who thinks everyone should live like a peasant ! The last thing the royal family will ever be is a laughing stock ,if you beleive that it shows how little you really know about anything .
Demoracy has nothing to do with centuries of heiritage and history that you should be proud to be part of ,grow up !

What would Diana be doing if she were alive today?

"An unelected head of state and privileged family is not democratic."

This reminds me of an interview with Prince Claus, husband of the Dutch Queen Beatrix. The interviewer made a similar comment and his reply was s.th. like
"Thank God it is not democratic. If people weren't born into monarchy, it would soon die out. Cause you won't be able to find someone who will want to do this job voluntarily."

Really, I pitty those people. Their lives are dictated by others, half the world watches over them, the can't say what they really think, can't do what they really want. Those two boys can't even go out and get trashed properly, without being all over the news the next day.

She would be enjoying her rest of life with her future boyfriend/husband Dodi in Paris.
If Dodi's chauffeur, Henri Paul, had not more than twice the British limit of alcohol in his bloodstream., and Princess Diana was wearing the seatbelt, she should not have been killed in that terrible accident.

Of course, that would never have happened in Uncle Scot47's time!
Iraq war is not like the Falklands war!
If Harry was sent to Iraq he will be target No. 1 for Al-Quaeda kidnappers, tha'ts why the UK governemnt declined to send him there.

You have to rebemebr that Prince Andrew participated in the Falklands war and served with HMS Invincible ship as a helicopter co-pilot. And the government was reluctant to allow him to join the Folklands war, but his mother the queen insisted that her son to be allowed to join HMS Invicible and to participate in the war.
What a sacrifice! Laughing
