I received a 3 page description from the school after sending in my CV. I am waiting to hear back on some additional questions I sent in. Request that they send you this information (it was an email attachment). If anyone else has more information, especially employment experience, I would be interested in hearing it! |

I met a couple Americans who worked there. They liked it. I think it is in Debica(not far from Tarnow).

The school is in Debica. A sister school opened in Sept 2001 in Tarnow (30km) from Debica.
Thanks for the positive info on former teachers' experience there. |

In the summer of 2000, I met an American woman who had come back from teaching there and was recruiting for the school.
One young Polish-American decided to give it a go. and I think he went that fall.
We met at St. Michael`s College, in Vermont.
It sounded fine, but the pay is pretty low. Even for Poland.
I think they have a summer camp for children.
I think many of the students come from a nearby factory.

I'll be working at their Tarnow school next year. It seems a very professional operation. The teachers I've met so far speak highly of it and I'll meet the rest later as they're having an end of year barbeque at their Debica site. |

I also applied to this school and was extremely disappointed by the reply I received. The school offered 25zl net (but later it was stated that one can work in Poland for two years without paying tax... not sure about that) plus accommodation, with the teacher paying all bills. Considering my 5 years experience of working in both language schools and private colleges in Poland, which was stated in my CV, I found the offer insulting. It was also stated that this was the base rate of pay which can increase if the school and the students are happy with your work. I was earning similar sort of money 4 years ago. Must be a nice a place to work as there doesn't seem to be any financial reward to working in this school. |

I worked at Brytania from September 06 and have just finished my first year teaching post-CELTA.
It is easy to find small faults with any organisation, but the bottom line is Brytania is a very professional place, but you have to be prepared to work and get results. The school has very high standards, but I actually thrived on this.
By and large, I was well looked after, the accommodation, from what I saw of the other native speakers as well, is very comfortable, and I never had any major problems with anyone. The DOS is a good egg. Ive got great respect for her.
Downsides- Debica is small and the nightlife is not exactly happening, but Krakow aint far, as well some other half-decent towns. Also, the pay is quite low. But I still saved a reasonable sum, and was able to travel round to Czech, up to Warsaw, and to Ukraine- Lviv aint far.
Good school. |

The school is professionally run and I'm not going to knock the school or the city. BUT, if you are looking for anything other than pure teaching experience, you may want to look at a bigger city where there is some nightlife and music.......and good restaurants? zero (Maybe Lord Hotel, a 25 minute walk from town center). And yes, the pay is low 27zl/hr, but accomodation is paid for and you'll get a single flat.
Hope this helps |
