just a warning too, ear plugs don't always work. When there was a block party at the end of my street, with 2 bands and 4 sets of 2m speakers, no amount of earplugs in the world would block out that noise. in this case, it was just easier to join them!! |

In my travels in Latin America, I've generally found it to be a lot noisier than the US. In my part of Mexico (Morelia) it depend on which part of town you live in, who your neighbors are, how many dogs they have, and how powerful their stereo is. But even if your neighbors aren't noisy, there is everything else: the fireworks, the bells, roosters, the gas truck playing their theme song, the guy selling water, screaming children at the guardar�a, the guy selling baked sweet potatoes, cars backfiring, the trash guy ringing his bell, car alarms, the vigilant guy with his whistle...you get the idea. I have a giant fan and use earplugs and sometimes it isn't enough. |
