Just returned from 2 years of teaching in China; in a training centre and a university. I would like to find work in Ottawa, Canada. Does anyone know of any good language schools in the area? Is anyone teaching in Ottawa? |

It would help to know a little more about you before offering any advice. For example, do you have any TESL training? Is it recognized by TESL Canada? |

Unless you did the programme at Carleton or Algonquin, then Ottawa isn't going to be a very good place (and even if you did- most people head down to Toronto, out of the country, or out of ESL teaching). It is mostly just volunteer centres (are you an upper-middle class lady with a husband who earns a 'family wage') and there are a couple of language schools downtown, but they tend to only need people for language camp types of things and those are only in the summer, but you might luck out.
You may have more luck in Hull, there are some language schools there that hire anglophones from Ottawa, especially if you speak French (at least a little). |
