|
|
Hi Guys
I'm in Japan on a tourist visa, expiring in 6 weeks. I want to get a working holiday visa so I can work here for a while. My question: Is it possible to apply for a WHV from inside Japan? Also, I read there are only 400 handed out each year from April - so any idea if it'll still be possible to get them this late?
I've got a degree, I'm British, I'm 23.
Thanks for your help |

Thanks Glenski.
Is that a 100% definite, no way in hell, no matter how much I beg and plead type of thing? Or you think there's a possibility of a way round it?
Thanks again |

You might have a chance if you get rid of that weird avatar. |

Hey man, it's a sexy monkey. He's not weird. I suggest you apologise...
No but seriously, is there actually a chance? |

No chance. You have to go to the Japanese Embassy in London or Edinburgh and apply. You have to give a brief description of your proposed itinerary, proof that you have access to 2500, and a couple of passport photographs. If you do all that then they'll send you the WHV within about a week.
The guy who saw me said they rarely issue the 400 visas due to a lack of applications...strange but true. |

Did you read the site on that link?
Quote: |
II. Procedure
The applicant must apply for a visa in person.
Applications submitted by agents or group will not be accepted.
Place:
All application documents must be submitted to the nearest Embassy or Consulate-General of Japan in the applicant's country of residence. |
Pretty cut and dried. The answer is no. |
