Hello All!
My friend and I have just arrived in Jakarta and we are looking for a place to stay while we look for teaching jobs. I've read a lot on this forum about kosts but I'm not sure how to locate these. Can anyone provide me with more information?
Thanks! |

There used to be a few Kost complexes behind where TBI have their offices at the Setia Budi Building - sorry I cant be more specific about street names. If you go to that area, an ojek rider should be able to help.
Good luck.

The kost area is behind Karet busway station. All along the street known as Casablanca from the station to Mall ambassador has a wide variety in the 2 - 3 million price range. Should have AC and cable tv. Good luck! |

Yup agree...
lots of Kost'an between Jl Sudirman and Ambassador mall...
in Jalan Karet Kuningan or Pedurenan on the other side of casablanca.
the prices range from 400 thousand (room only) to about 2.8 million a month, which would include internet, AC, cable TV, fridge, own bathroom.
I know someone who lives in this area, if you need a phone number of the owner, please send me a private message and i'll foward it on to you.
Also their building has undercover parking in a quite area. 5 minutes from Mega Kuningan, Ambassador and Semanggi malls.
Some kost have strict rules, no visitors after 10pm or all girl or boy kosts.
Some which are usually owned by chinese also allow unmarried couples to live together. Hassle free |

Thanks to all of you! We went exploring the area behind the mall and found a really nice, brand new kost with all the amentities listed above even hot water. It is so much better than a hotel room. |
