I have been offered a position in Nonthaburi, just outside Bangkok.

Anyone familiar with this area? Any thoughts?

I've visited the university (Suvarnabhumi) there a few times. Very nice area. It's a "quiet" suburb of Bangkok that I reached via a short Express Boat ride. There's also a little arts-and-crafts island called Ko Kret nearby in the river, where you can have quiet walks and even bike rides without traffic.

If I were looking for a place to live in the Bangkok metro area, this would be a good option.

Where exactly will you be located in Nonthaburi? Nonthaburi is a relatively large area and very spread out. In some places, it's exactly as if you never lleft Bangkok. In other places, it's nothing like Bangkok.
