Hello,
Im a French student studying Chinese language at the Jiaotong University. Since I only go to the school half a day, Im looking for a part time job. Im in Shanghai since one year now and I have already worked six months in a marketing consulting company and during the last semester I was working in a service company (helping foreign businessmen to make their trip in Sh. easier).
Im graduate from a business school in Paris. I speak French, English and Im on my way to speak Chinese (although my level is still basic).
Im quite easy going, open minded, flexible, and at the time being, Im prepared to accept any kind of job offer.
So please do contact me without hesitation if you have an offer and if you want more information about me.
Contact: [email protected]
Regards,
Rodolphe |

Keep in mind that while studying on a student visa you are prohibited from employment. |

My school that I study French at require French speakers to teach French. I'm in the North though!!
But perhaps some of the private schools that offer French lessons to Chinese might need a French speaker. |

I don't know if they still do it, but there are companies that will change your visa to a business visa for a fee, that would make it worlds easier to find a job. Look in Thats Shanghai and City Weekend for the ads for such services. The service I used was called Emoo, or something similar, and was in an office tower not far from JiaoTong, you could conceivably walk there. It took 4 business days and was handled very well. The visa changing process took four days, not walking there.
It cost me 1500 RMB but I got a multiple entry work visa that wasn't tied to any one company, freeing me up to work for others - or myself as an independent contractor.
Have you contacted your embassy? They might be able to help with leads towards internships, volunteer stuff, etc. |

hey folks,
dont worry about that visa. a friend of mine run a company who provides internship for foreign students, and from him it's easy to get an interniship contract !!
and it's all legal. And even compagnies prefer that kind of contract because its easier to employ a person with no tax to pay.
i already used this method before and i ll continue untill i'm not a student anymore.
so no need to be afraid about working while being a student, each problem got one's solution.

Studying on a student visa allows ONLY that - studying.
Being "employed" as an intern is not legal.
The visa status is quite simple. Any company providing "alternate" means of internship is not legal, not matter what that company says or provided you in the past.
Interning requires an F visa, while studying is not.
Of course, you can do anything you like with supposed legality, however you cannot do it properly.
Believe it or not, argue with it or not, that is not a legal method. |
