Hey, here's my deal. Native English speaker, I have a Bachelor's degree, substitute and University level teaching experience, no TEFL degree, and I want to teach in Bangkok from mid-January or so to about mid-June. I only want to make enough money to live off of, I'm not looking to get rich. So here are my questions-
1. Do I need a TEFL degree to teach in Thailand? If so, is the one available strictly online applicable?
2. Is it feasible to only teach for six months? Can I go through an agency? I know that many positions are for a year, but I only want to teach for six months.
3. Is there a website with the "hard facts", like exactly what type of visa you need, insurance, vaccines, etc. that are needed?

Any help would be SO appreciated. It seems that everyone is teaching abroad, but I need some specific advice because I'm feeling confused as to how to get the ball rolling on this, so to speak.

That's about the best chance you are going to have.

In Mid January, schools start winding down their hiring. Unfilled positions are left unfilled because schools start ending by mid to the end of February.

Schools don't start back up until May though some start hiring for April, they'd be loathe to hire someone to start in April who will be gone in June.

So language institutes it is and even they might be hard to come by....
