Hi guys...

I'm a newbie and I find myself in need of being
in kaohsiung,.. 2 days at least...and...I need a cheap
hotel that has a computer in the room with internet....

careful now, I don't have a laptop with me and
I've already made the mistake of simply inquiring
of a hotel about internet access, and then
almost paying the reservation before realizing
that they had a hole in the wall where I could
stick my own personal laptop.

I got what looked like a good deal on the internet,
but when I researched a little further it turned out
that the hotel rooms "used to have" PCs, but now
they've switched to simple access.
I guess I need a little "first hand" knowledge....

now....I dont need it for watching porn in my room...
I can use the hotel-provided TV for that.....it can be
in the lobby for all I care as long as I dont have to
wrestle 3 guys named butch to get on...
I need to be in communication with a number of different
places for 24 hours or so after I get some info in
kaohsiung.
Can anyone help?
(can you hear me, Big Wally?....I've got one more question
coming down the pike after this,...but if there's anybody
out there who can help me, I thought I'd let them
digest this one first.

Don't worry about the internet connection, because you will find internet cafes all over Taiwan, and with prices at about $1 u.s. per hour, you won't have any problems getting access.

sorry buddy...dont know much about hotels around town...i know there are a few....try going to Kaohsiung Living (formerly known as Connect Kaohsiung) its a decent Yahoo! message board where a lot of people from K-Town are always posting info....ask about hotels there!

very few hotels offer computers in your rom, it is normal for a plug intot he hotels lines only. A good hotel (4 and 5 star) should have a business office where you can work (at a fee)
As suggested, there are many cyber cafes around, and cheap by the hour rates. A decent hotel sghould be able to help you find one somewhere.
