|
|
I have worked in UAE before, but I want to know what are the five best places to work in UAE? I am talking 1. Salary 2. Working Conditions 3. City
I picked 5, because most of the first and second rated schools may be impossible to work for because of strict hiring criteria.
I know it is totally subjective.
Thanks for your response! |

Are you referring to the best k-12 institutions? The best unis? Or the best teaching gigs, regardless of what form they come in?
K-12 in Dubai-can't speak so much to AUH Schools
1. Rashid School for Boys/Latifa School for Girls (historically, the highest paying gig for an 'international' school).
2. American School of Dubai/Dubai College (low turnover, seemingly happy teachers, well-compensated)
3. Al Ghad: high pay-highest on the international school circuit to the best of my knowledge, but it's new so I'm not sure how good the working conditions are, or if they'll be able to sustain the high salaries they started with.
4. Dubai English Speaking School
5. Jumeirah English Speaking School
All of this depends on your experience and where you're teaching qualification was obtained. #1 and #3 seem to hire teachers from various backgrounds, while #2, #4, and #5 typically want someone w/ a PGCE min and/or exp teaching ENC.
There are also a slew of IB schools worth checking out. |

I believe Rashid/Latifa are paying as much as 13,000/month. With Al Ghad now offering salaries between 12-16,000, they've surprised a lot of people. |

Thanks very much for responding to my post, I am referring to all gigs in UAE; university, international school, language institutes. I have taught at universities and language institutes before and have been offered positions at international schools and everything in between. I want to do some career research into the best schools because my wife and I want to do a short two or three year stretch in the mideast to make some money to pay off the mortgage.
To all those that like to criticize my grammar and spelling, I am a busy man and I want to do other things in my life. So I have limited my postings to two minutes in length and grammar and spelling be damned. I will be pleased to take your language lesson ınto consideration when and if I want to improve it. I am sure you are a wonderful English teacher. |

Here's the deal for almost all of those 5 schools I listed: you'd need to a qualified K-12 teacher. I believe Al Ghad might for non-teaching positions w/o the teaching qualification, though that's 2nd hand knowledge.
Al Ghad's peak salary is where most of the unis top out at. Higher Colleges of Technology, Zayed U, University of Sharjah, and UAEU (did I forget any of the big ones?) would pay 10,000 + for a MA TESOL holder...would everyone agree w/ that number?
The UAE is all about the credentials, though. Gotta have the papers to back up the experience in most cases. Hope that helps! |
