Thanks for sharing that, Andy.
And thanks for your comments, Slippy. As far as working on yearly contracts without benefits after so many years, I would have to say that goes with the territory, unless you are lucky. Also, I think honing ones Japanese skills before returning home is a very good idea.
Enjoy,

The topic concerns advice, not for whom. All helpful comments are appreciated.

No worries Mr. Sweetpea.
I'll try to think of some more ideas, but in the mean time, I hope your friend makes a decision that is best for his or her family.
Enjoy,

When I left back to Canada it was a welcome change.
I think ppl tend to overlook how much more opportunity their is back home.
Especially for us North Americans, make an effort and good things will happen. |

That's a good positive outlook, Synne. Thank you, we needed that.
Do you think you would mind sharing some of the details of your being here and the transition you were able to make returning?
Thanks in advance.
Enjoy,

It's been a while, but I've been brought back on-line from the depths of the internet because of everything going on with Nova these days.
Details of my being in Japan:
Jet Program 2 years in Shizuoka.
(Then 2 years in the USA to get MA-TESOL)
Nova - 1 year in Tokyo/Saitama
Fancy-pants richie-rich elementary school in Saitama - 1 year
Now back in the USA teaching ESOL at a high school full-time and community college part-time. The high school is very challenging, but pays the bills. The college is a sweet gig. I'd really like to do that full-time instead, but I don't have enough on my resume yet. |

Howdy, Rip, good to hear from you! What part of the States, if you don't mind my asking? That and who replaced you at fancy-pants, could you turn someone on to that?
Enjoy,
