I forgot to mention in my previous posting above that there is now a Book Club at Sohar College. One of our English teacher colleagues orders, in a bulk purchase, the book(s) to be reviewed by club members later in the semester.

The formation of such a club could be another option for those bibliophiles stranded in the more provincial parts of Oman to consider...

And, finally, in response to VS's query about the current status of "The House of Prose" , the second-hand bookstore located in the Al Wadi centre, Muscat, it is curently advertising its services in "theweek" magazine, ( http://www.apexstuff.com/ ).
