I have not personally worked for this school nor do I know of anybody who worked for them. However, I did spend a year in Hohhot and I can honestly say, if you are a first timer in China, then you should either avoid the city or mentally prepare yourself. The city is far from developed. It is dirty, ugly, and boring. There are hardly any visible foreigners there, and only a few disco bars and pubs at most (I only know two). Winters can be very dry and cold, and summers are hot and dry. The water is awful (white residue sitting in the bottom of the kettle), and dust storms between March and June are hellish. The cost of living is expensive and the salaries are quite low.

I strongly recommend against choosing that city for anyone's first China experience.

I highly doubt one would find street signs in both Chinese and Mongolian in Beijing. Neutral Mr. Green

Where are you located? Changchun's winter could be a bit too harsh for you if you have never lived in anywhere that is below freezing in the winter time.

Bai Da Wei has a pretty good reputation in Changchun. The owner is an American and he teaches too. I was invited but didn't want to teach there not because of the fact that it is a language training centre, but mainly because I don't like teaching children.

I'm from scotland so cold winters don't phase me that much. I'm also quite keen to try teaching kids. I'm a first timer so I'd like to experience something interesting whilst i'm there, what do you know about the city? again lonely planet's not that helpful. Laughing Cheers
