So I'm back on this in this forum again wondering if someone can advise me of how to go about a job search in the UAE...
I did the TEFL certificate (face to face, 120 hours) about 3 years ago and now I will have a Masters in TESOL (this December) which I did not do online. I have 3 years of experience in the U.S., China and Korea and I am currently in Korea working in a high school while doing some comparitive research for my thesis.
I'd really like to work with adults in the UAE but I have very limited experience with this demographic. I've taught a few Saudi students and a few Turks in the U.S., but most of my experience has been with Asian, European and Latin students.
How can I get my foot in the door in a place like the UAE within the next year or so? I will be 30 years old by the time I finish my current contract so I think I'm not too young to teach in the Middle East.
How can I get the ball rolling? |

I'd hold off until you have the MA in hand. Then send off applications to the universities and see what happens. When you write up the CV and application, emphasize your experience with the adults and Arabic speakers plus any experience teaching academic English... especially writing.
January would be a good time to apply for next September.
