What is the situation with Taiwan and spousal visas?
If I was to get a 'work visa' in Taiwan, would my spousal be allowed a spousal visa? Are spouses allowed to work on Spousal Visas? |

Filipina with an American passport.
No Bachelors Degree - so she couldn't get a legal teaching contract, that I know of anyways. |

could probably fill in some mornings-only hours (weekday) with kindergarten. unfortunately I don't know what visa she would get though. Taiwan, unlike Korea, only gives max 30 day entry to Americans on visa-exempt status, so someone with experience on the spouse situation should fill in here. |

Yes, she can get a spousal visa. As far as I know, though, she wouldn't be able to work legally.
We are friends with two married couples who do this...the wives are on spousal visas and solely teach privates at home. It's illegal, but they have been doing it for years (one for 6 years, the other for a bit longer) and no questions have ever been asked. Actually, they make quite a bit of money that way. Your wife may be able to get some privates too, but she will most likely experience pretty severe discrimination by the Taiwanese because of the fact that she is Filipino, even though she holds an American passport.
Some Filipinos do teach English in Taiwan, but at very low pay. If she doesn't mind that, then all will be fine. |

that's ok. Looks like we'll be going to korea, then CHina or Taiwan after that. Maybe in Korea he'll learn English. |
