Can anybody help with some info on my visa situation.
I recently went to Singapore and got a work visa. I was due to start the Kitas process this week but due to circumstances beyond my control I will be finishing at the school at the end of the month. As such the school will not continue with spending money on the Kitas and I will be working only with a work visa.
Will there be any trouble working for the month without a Kitas, just on a work visa in my passport?
I am not quite sure exactly what Kitas does or if I will have any trouble leaving the country at the end of the month without one.
Also, if my new school is applying for my work visas now, will it matter that I currently have a work visa with the school I am leaving?
Please, any info would help. I am getting a little confused |

Is that a polite way of saying you are being fired?

Quite possibly. To get the C visa issued your original school had to apply to the manpower ministry who in turn get the ministry that includes imigrasi to authorise a visa. All that paperwork is indexed by your passport number. You may have to exit the country first before the paperwork from the new school can be completed.
The usual disclaimer - like all matters concerning Indonesian officialdom the above problems may be surmountable by a time-honoured process of gift giving, depending on how valuable you are to your employer.
Also bear in mind that the wheels of government turn very slowly during Ramadhan and grind to a halt for two weeks around Id ul Fitr. |

OK The situations is this, sorry to confuse anyone.
I got the work visa -312 (vitas i think) however do not want to go on with the kitas process. I have since been told there could be problems at the airport because I need an exit permit and I can only get that with a kitas.
malu - no I was not fired, I need to leave the school for my own reasons.
Anyone with any other info - please help |

It doesnt sound like anybody is really sure; think you should get in touch with your embassy - no point taking chances, and at least they'll be able to get you the info you need.
Good luck
