|
|
Hello,
I have been surfing this forum for a while and have decided to ask a simple question. ARE 6-month CONTRACTS AVAILABLE ANYWHERE?
I will be doing my post-grad studies next September and I am very interested to go somewhere abroad for a 6-month contract and teach English in the meantime.
ps The only agency I came across that offers 6-month contracts is "People Recruit", who are currently looking for a contract in Korea for me.
Any information regarding this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
Branko |

There are quite a few good options out there. Probably the best place to look for short-term TEFL work is a newish website called www.TEFLtemp.com
There are links and information to numerous organizations, paid work, volunteer programs, and even a few training/guaranteed short-term work options.
None will make you rich - but all will get you overseas for a "dip your toe in the TEFL water" experience.
Good luck! |

Abu Dhabi University, who has had a lot of bad press on the UAE forum, advertises 3, 6,9, and 12 month contracts. No MA required, to the best of my knowledge.
In other parts of the world, contracts are sometimes just loose agreements. I suppose it depends on where you'd like to go, and whether or not your employer will be paying to being you over. |

The Westgate Corporation in Japan offers short (3 or 4-month) contracts. Also, look into summer camps. I did one in China that lasted just 4 weeks, but there are some that go 2 or 3 months.

Chinese colleges/universities don't usually pay very much, but they are on a semester system and will have you teach for one semester or two. |
