'Voi, voi, voi' would be translated as (something akin to) 'Oh, dear, dear', or 'Oh, deary me', but, of course, 'voi' also means 'butter' (among other homophones). So, when Finns come out with 'voi, voi, voi' with a sigh, others invariably come back with 'Ja lmmin leip!' which as you state means 'And hot bread'. It is typical Finnish 'humour'. Anyway, vlkommen till Kina! Hur lnge ska du stanna?

Lol, aha I get it... Never heard that expression before though Very Happy Sin puhut hyvin suomea! Miss asuit, kun asuit Suomessa?

Jag r inte fr tillflligt i Kina - jag pluggar i England. Jag vill fara tillbaka till Kina nsta r. Diskussionerna p Dave's fr mig bara att lngta tillbaka Smile

Wow telling folk to shut-up in Danish - was pretty effective.

You can talk again now!!!!

(Even though I'm sure my last post had a serious grammar error here and there - Scandinavians can read each others languages with ease - even my bad Danish - apart from Finnish which is closely related to Hungarian)

A friend of mine who is a British born chinese recently asked me for information regarding places to teach namely in Hong Kong.

I gave her the link to this website which is obviously extremely helpful and will provide her with much information.

The thing I would like is advice on how she should go about applying with her 'Asian' face to prospective employers who have this white face pre-requisite.

Thanks in advance.

Since when does Danish have anything to do with working in China. If I wasn't such a nice guy I would "click on" the Exclamation button.

I wonder who has? Have you? ......

Thanks Sugar.
