After reading the valuable responses to NatureGirls inquiries, I wanted to PM folks. But that function is now down.
So...I'm posting this, asking for feedback.

<<<Dear Applicant,>>> |
My NAME is not mentioned. It could seem that this is a Mass Mailing.
Quote: |
After the meeting of Board of Directors, Santa Maria International school, the school principal and the head of Administration, it was concluded that the applicants who successfully meet our requirements on the standard of the teachers needed to teach in our school this season be informed through this letter.
I am very delighted to inform you that <<your name was among the lucky teachers whom application was granted. >> |
This sounds like a Spam letter informing me I won the Euro-Lottery.
Quote: |
<<We hope you are ready and prepared to join us>> towards the end of this month when all our foreign teachers must report for duty. |
How can I be ready and prepared...when I have not yet received any INFO about the Proposed Position?
===========================================
They have a nice Website.
They haven't asked for any money.
I wrote them a letter, with my comments as Above.
If they are OK, they need to be less...and more...
Any INFO?
Thnx folks |

I just received an e-mail from this particular school in Madrid after they saw my profile on seriousteachers.com.
I haven't bothered to reply since it seemed impersonal. I figured it was a mass e-mail they randomly send out to people. Here's the e-mail:

1. European schools never pay for flights.
2. They CAN'T get you a work permit if you are a non-EU citizen. It's a federal law in Spain, along with some of the other 'old' EU member countries.
3. The qualifications required are ENTRY-LEVEL only. There are literally thousands of teachers with these quals available in Spain at this red hot moment.
It's an OBVIOUS scam. |

Better amend the 'never.' Not private language schools, not for teachers with basic qualifications.
International schools, government-sponsored schools, military-related schools, for teachers with advanced quals and experience, maybe sometimes. |

....the website is almost laughable....40 nationalities and only 2 upcoming events in the next 2 months??
read the list of directors, pretty funny names also...
...sounds strange, but it seems this is coming from someone with a fairly high level of English, ...also, that they mention the UK Exams, maybe this is UK based??
btw-- there are some spelling errors on their website also-- |

Some shcools in Europe DO PAY for flights. When I taught in Poland, Lithuania and Slovakia I got my outward flights reimbursed. Not too sure about Spain though |

booty, can I ask whether you were at regular private language schools or something different? And how long ago that was?
Not to be confrontational in any way, but I've been around Europe 10 years now and honestly haven't heard of private lang schools offering this kind of benefit - not for a long time.
If I'm giving incorrect general info, I'd honestly like to know!
I also have to quickly say that I know little about Lithuania, but Poland and Slovakia, yes.... I think! |

No one/nothing said 'Thank you'
Also...here's the Spanish Motto from their Invitation Letter
Motto: enriqueciendo la vida de nuestros nios y nuestros mundo.
'nuestros mundo'
..............OR.................
'nuestro mundo'
Much thanks
community-consciousness
I'll wait until my Irish Citizenship-via-Grandparents comes thru
Instead of Spain...it looks like I'm leaving China for Czech Spa town
As a Massage lover, that sounds good |
