This weekend our corner store got theirs. The long awaited first shipment of the best Mexican beer--Noche Buena.
I had more beer this weekend than I have had in months. It's fabulous. I think I'll have another tonight!

WoW! Didnt notice it last Friday when I was wondering around Wal-mart, will have to keep my eyes out for it.

Initially I was surprised to hear that as it seems early but...thinking about all of the Christmas decorations that they have out in every store, I suppose it does make sense.

Guess Ill have to see if I can pick up a case this weekend!

Pack of six cases?
In years past before children ate up most of my disposible income, I did seriously consider buying 12 cases of the stuff in January to get me through until November.
But then, we don't get the other good beers in my town. No Bohemia, no Casta, can't even any Dos Equis anymore. Leon and Montejo en a few places, but most places it's the Corona, Victoria, Negra Modelo show. Crying or Very sad

Oh well, it's a trade off for clean air, breath-taking views, etc.

No, we're so naive about beer that I don't know any other meaning for "6-pack" than a case of 6 bottles, and that's what we bought last year and have now consumed 1/3 of.

No Bohemia! No Dos Equis! Deepest sympathies.

Leon is a damn fine beer indeed, and much underrated in SLP. Reminds me of an English or European beer but I can never remember which one - just have to keep drinking it till I find out.

I came off a 35 year prohibition of alcohol in Comitn. All I could think to order was Corona. Not a good choice. I shall have to relearn my cervecas mexicanas.

Melee: I always enjoy your posts, even over here in Wuhan, China, where I'm completing 6-month contract with Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) and a local university. Love Mexican beer, and grew fond of Modelo Negra in Carolina. Must try the beer you mentioned. Over here, there's a local brand called "Snow" and it comes pint size, but rather thin, and its a trip to the loo after every bottle. But at 28 cents U.S. a beer, no need to stock up. We'll see you in Mexico in 2008.
