Hello,

I am interested in taking the CELTA in Ukraine. Does anyone have opinions/views/suggestions/etc. regarding the quality of the teacher training at Kiev English Language Centre or the International House - Kiev? I've only recently come across this forum and thought some of the old hands Smile

might be able to shed to a bit of light.

A woman I know took the CELTA at IH and was happy with it, although it was very demanding (as it is supposed to be).

Thanks Canucktechie. After reading about wages, living costs in Kiev, etc., I think I'm gonna shop around a bit. Maybe Poland or Czech to get my feet wet, before I consider Ukraine. Smile

I strongly suggest doing your TEFL in Prague. There are several good programs there and plenty of experience among the teachers.

Go on the Czech expats board (just google it) and ask, you'll get an earful of information on a half dozen programs.

I am Australian, and will be studying the CELTA course at IH Kyiv in June, 2008.

I have been to Ukraine before, so I'm looking forward to it Smile

I'm planning to take the CELTA at IH Kiev this summer. I visited the school in person and was quite impressed. The staff was personable, the facility was modern and in a fashionable part of town, it seemed. I didn't see any red flags. Can't wait to get started...
