Is using the DVD/sitcom effective? I think anything that requires your brain to expend effort is going to be helpful. This could be translation, listening, speaking.
The problem is when they come up to you seeking the magic pill. What they are realy saying is, I don't like to work hard. How can i have good english without trying. Oh, i want to play basketball like Michael Jordan. Basketball practice...how boring. How can i be a good basketbal player?
I destest most when the chinese students read ou loud passages froma book...and have no idea what they are saying. but it is easy to do. No real effort involved. |
