I worked for a sub contractor for Aramco for five years Jatco which i believe offer the best contracts. I was on a percentage contract but i had already been working in Saudi and arranged my own accommodation and the rate i got was pretty good. So your offer will not only depend on what is listed below but on which contractor you choose.

First off your offer will depend on your nationality.
If you are from the US you will get more than any other nationality.
I was on the UK payroll so i got less than US citizens but more than other nationalitities.

You definitely won't get any school fees paid that is for sure.
Depending on your experience qualifications and nationality it is Aramco that makes an offer to your contractor company who then take their percentage and you get whatever you get.

So what you actually get can vary tremendously based on these factors.

There is some wriggle room based on the inital offer but not a lot so you can ask your contractor for a bit more and you might get it.

Typical standard contract will include holidays, tickets accommodation, meals and monthly rate. With Aramco you usually get a rise each year for performance appraisal.

Many things to consider. I would recommend you call Jatco or Al Hoty and have a chat with them as these are two of the better contractors for Aramco.

Working as a sub contractor for Aramco is OK based on who you contract through and what you get.

NB Most Saudis working for Aramco are also sub contractors and they get ripped off more than westerners

Thanks Mark and I've now acted on your suggestion. It helps to hear from someone who knows the company aspect. Cheers

Another issue to consider is that with Aramco they will decide where you go.

So you might be sent to Abqaiq or Ras Tanura or Jeddah or if you are lucky Dhahran.

As far as I know the only places at the moment paying educational allowances are KFUPM and PMU. KFUPM is men-only so that leaves you PMU. There is NO CHANCE of an ARAMCO contractor paying educational fees.

Don't shoot the messenger.

The Royal Commission in Jubail will pay the school fees at the appropriate international school. I think there is a limit on the number of children; after a certain number you have to use the government schools (which in Jubail are very good). A colleague of mine actually has nine kids in the government schools in Jubail.

I can't believe they HAVE nine children let alone they are all thriving in the public schools. That's a testament ...to something. Thanks you guys. I'll try those two. We live in hope.
