That's pretty much the the vibe. I don't feel so bad, cause I barely worked for the company, and I've been using thier housing for almost a month, so we're even as far as i'm concerned. I'm gonna move out before friday though, cause those eviction notices are gonna come fast and furious soon after. |
Yeah, but I heard that NOVA have traditionally paid at midnight. Seems like it would be worth checking out at the ATM whenever you can. Good luck to you. I hope things work out alright. |
I'll go and check the ATM on the Thursday night I guess, since there's one near by, but i'm not holding out hope. It would have been a small check anyways, and the free room balances things out. I'm cleaning my hands of the company, on all levels. I'm not going to be bitter about it, staying angry seems pointless, so i'm just gonna refocus my energy finding more work and sticking it out. |

| I've applied to about 25 jobs and have had 2 replies. I have one interview tomorrow morning. NOVA is definitely not where I want to be by the end of the month. I may just end up travelling around the rest of Asia then heading to Europe then going home. Either way, I'm not expecting a pay check after this months. |

At least you don't have to put up with working for Nova.  Seriously, you'll be a lot better off once you find a new job and not only because Nova is going *beep* up. |

The four executives are believed to have decided to quit partly because President Nozomu Sahashi currently is nowhere to be found and unreachable while the Osaka Central Labor Standards Supervision Office and Nova's employees are turning up the heat on the company's management, citing Nova's non-payments of worker salaries as a major point of contention, industry observers say.
Among the four is Director Anders Lundqvist, who founded the company with Sahashi. The others are one full-time auditor and two part-time auditors, according to Nova.
A union representing foreign instructors working for Nova said the firm has delayed wage payments to some 2,000 Japanese employees since July and to about 4,000 foreign instructors since September. October wage payments have been delayed indefinitely beyond the scheduled payment date of Oct. 15.
Nova's current plight began when it was discovered that it had lied to consumers in advertisements about its services. The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry subsequently ordered it in June to suspend part of its business operations.
Amid the fallout from the scandal, the company has been forced to shut down some of its schools due to a sharp decline in student enrollment. |

| I want to imagine Sahashi is sitting a pink bunker somewhere, disheveled and rambling, hunched over a map of Japan as he watchs his schools close, every now and then shooting out another delusional fax. But most likely the man is laying low somewhere comfortably, trying to find the best way out of Japan with as much of his money as he can sneak out. That is, if he hasn't already flown the coop. |

| Too farther fuel the fire, I've heard students saying they saw him in the Tokyo head office last week, and also that he has paid a Yakuza family to keep him comfortable in Brazil. You can't make this up folks... |

| So Sahashi is down for the count, in a classic case of to little to late. The people who could have made some sort of diffrence months ago finally act when it's more than likey that it's already to late. It's a shame that so many people had to get burned for the mistakes of a handful of idiots, but I guess that's life for you. At least people can rest a little easier knowing that Sahashi has a nice long road ahead of him, with little chance of a island get away at the end. |
