I have recently taken a NET position and have spent the 3 months required rent and started to get set up here. I have found start -up costs quite high and so am wondering where are the cheapest- Internet companies, grocery stores ( Kowloon Bay, cable tv packages, appliances places and fitness centers.
Also if anyone is living near Kowloon Bay and is interested in meeting a nice, outgoing Canadian teacher please send me a PM as I haven't seen any foreigners in my area and would like to meet some! |

I'm sure if you venture down to Ruby Tuesday's in the Telford shopping mall of a Friday evening you'll bump into some fellow westerners. |

Don't go to TST looking for computer gear. I went there last weekend looking for a new power cord for my computer. I had no idea what the price would be. The first place wanted HK1400, and the second HK1000. They both said it was standard price. I restrained myself from swearing, and left ASAP. I went to Sham Shui Po instead and got the genuine article for HK240. And I thought only mainland retailers were outright crooks. |
