Presumably eventually she can take out Saudi citizenship?

I know a couple of foreign women who were married to Saudis, and when they got divorsed they have lost their Saudi citizenship and have been deported. Also, the children of a foreign woman married to a Saudi will not get the Saudi citizenship automatically!!
I know some children of foreign women married to saudis, born in Saudi Arabia, have been denied the Saudi citizenship, and are using the passport of their mother's original country. And some, by using 'strong' WASTA with Uncle Bandar got their Saudis citizenship!!
What a shame!

From all the stories that keep coming in the local media, it seems you are wrong. Children of a Saudi father and foreign mother are automatically considered Saudis, and in the event of divorce, the mothers (unless naturalized Saudis) are deported and pretty much lose the right to ever see their children again. Even if they are naturalized Saudis, they can lose their Saudi citizenship if divorcing. Once such a couple comes to Saudi, the wife is eligible to apply for citizenship, and these days can get it easily within a couple to few years. Also, children of such couples HAVE to attend Saudi schools, unless they get permission from the government to attend international schools.

If the wife is Saudi and the husband is foreign, the children are not eligible to apply for citizenship until they turn 18, and the even for the husband, it is pretty much impossible to get the citizenship. But that's only because females are only half human (and half trash?), so of course they cannot possibly give birth to Saudi children if the father is foreign. There have been many cases where in the even of divorce in such couples, the husband leaves the country with the children (since the children are not Saudis if < 18 ), and the mother pretty much loses them forever, unless she travels to see them. Children of such couples CANNOT attend Saudi schools without the parents overcoming huge obstacles and kissing some official's ass

Funny, huh? Women lose (their children and other rights) whether they are Saudi and marry foreign men, or whether they are foreign and marry Saudi men.

This is true of all Muslim countries, not just Saudi. The children are considered the property of the father. The mother is not considered at all... religious law, not tradition. Which is why I have always advised any women friends that have been considering it to think long and hard before marrying a Muslim.

Those of us with years in the Middle East can each fill a book with examples of the sad results when the marriage fails... and the majority of them do.
