A funny informative chaep and timely book has just been published in UK concerning the Comma. A review in the The Wall Street Journal took the angle that the British are a 'race of pedants' and that is why they write books like this. Well all i can say is that if the pomsa are a race of pedants then we north americans are a race of illitereatews. Love the article. The Shakespearian example says it all:

"Go, get him surgeons" (he needs urgent medical attention) vs "Go get him, surgeons" (I want him hunted down by medical personnel).

Punctuation is not my strong point but now I see the need!
