There has been a lot of negativity towards the franchise of EF on these boards. Bad experiences, mainly, or observations on the bad experiences of others. I find, however, that most of the negativity exists in posts dated early 2005 (ie "avoid EF: Suzhou"). I wonder if things have changed? I've been offered a position there, and this will be my first experience in China.

One of the Chinese teachers left our school last term and got a job there... doing what? I have no clue. She was a cutie, though. Annie was her name, if I remember correctly.

Don't know anything about EF, but will say the Suzhou is an awesome place to live.

Same as any other school, anywhere. Request several current / recently-departed teachers' email addresses, and ask them what you want to know.

If the school doesn't provide them, that's a fair sign that you might be in for trouble.

Bottom line, not enough money for work required.
