I have lived in Turkey for several years, and have always been amused by the number of people who participate in the vile habit of smoking. I have always found that smokers are the rudest people on the face of the earth, but in this country, they take it to a new level. Witness the one smoker sitting with a group of nonsmokers who puts his/ her cigarette in the ashtray in the middle of the table for all to enjoy. Witness the people smoking in the company's nonsmoking section of the canteen. They sit there because they don't want to smell like smoke. Witness the man who can't wait to light up while exiting the metro, and does so on the escalator, treating everyone else behind him to his exhale. Witness the women smoking at a table and blowing their smoke in everyone else's faces.
This rude behavior is not only limited to Turks, however. I used to eat lunch with a yabanci whose cigarette ashes would always end up in my soup! |

I hear what you say and totally agree , but this is something which is not unique to just Turks ,smokers everywhere are guilty of the same crime and don't give any consideration to the people they make uncomfortable with their foul and disgusting habit.
Do I sound like an x smoker? |
