Hello,

I am new to this forum and Dave's ESL Cafe. I see there are many possibilities for teaching in HCM and Ha Noi. I am very interested in teaching in Vietnam at some point in the future. As I consider retirement, remuneration would not be a major consideration for me or my wife. My wife is Viet Kieu and speaks Vietnamese fluently.

My interest would be to teach in a rural setting, perhaps to students that could not afford the cost of learning the English by attending an expensive institution. My goal would be to help those who would not have an opportunity to learn English outside the larger cities. I have a BA degree and work with computers and computer networks as a profession.

Having said this, could I attain work in a less populated city or town? Should I learn more Vietnamese as I consider this future endeavor?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Rick
