| I have searched about 6 or 7 pages of this forum and have found very little direct information about public schools in Vietnam. I have been teaching at a high school in Bangkok for the last two years and am set on coming to Ho Chi Minh at the end of this contract. When exactly does the public school year in Vietnam start and end? I am guessing its similar to the Thai school year, i.e, schools start in mid May, break in October, start again in November and finish towards the end of February. Also, what is the best way to go about finding a job in the public school system? If its anything like Thailand I would say to avoid recruiters and just show up and ask around...right? |

| Okay... now I have scoured 80% of the messages on this forum and still cannot find any useful information on public schools. I am guessing that this is either because the majority of ESL teachers in HCM work at private schools, or those who do work at public schools do not use this forum. If anyone knows anything about public schools in HCM, i.e., pay rate, requirements, hiring dates, etc, feel free to drop a line. Thanks. |

| There are no public school jobs simply because VN doesn't have public school English programs like the ones in semi-developed Asian countries. |
