GonzalesB,
you have asked this time how long it takes for your work visa to be issued. May I ask: How long have you been here? Or, how much longer is your current visa valid?

If you have undergone the requisite medical examination (HIV test!), it should take one week to maximum 2 weeks to get your work visa.
Note that if you are overstaying your current visa, someone (hopefully not you!) will have to stump up 500 RMB per day of overstaying!
Make sure they give you your passport back, plus your work permit and your residence permit! A FE booklet is helpful too (to get your money converted into foreign currency!).

wow roger, you work with such efficient FAO's . My residence permits have taken over a month. (Not counting the school that lied to me for 3 months before admitting they didn't have the legal right to get me my residence permit.
But are we talking getting a z-visa, or getting the residence permit?

Hi,

I arrived here on Feb, 13 and my visa is valid for 60 days only. Yes, I am referring to my work visa. I had the medical examination done in the second week after I arrived here. What amazes me, is that whenever they need something from you it is urgent. On the other hand when they have to do something for you they take forever.

I will ask them tomorrow again regarding my work visa. Will keep you poster.

Thanx again for the assistance.
