MOD EDITWhat I'm trying to do sounds simple and people do it here all of the time but I can't do it to save my life form eternal damnation. Evil or Very Mad

I'm trying to figure out how to put a partial quote in my comments. When you're quoting someone, the quote is in a little white box at the top of your post with your comments at the bottom in blue.

I can not figure out how to do this. I have already tried hitting quote, deleting everything except what I want to quote but when I do this and post it, the other persons quote is NOT in white. It's in the blue box just like my comments and sometimes this appears
Again, I hit the quote button then delete everything except the part I want to have in my post, but it NEVER works. I'm hitting the quote button in the persons post.

Any suggestions or should I just give up???? This is more frustrating than the Statistics class I took in college. Crying or Very sad

Okey dokey, try this...

Read the insightful message that you decide you want to quote, and in that message, choose the quote button at the top right of that message.

The message should appear with a
at the start and a
at the end. DO NOT DELETE either the
or the
or you'll lose your quote.

Try that and let me know how you go. Wink
