Hmmm...

My first post was, I believe, either a question about being vegan in Japan or a response to another poster about playing ultimate in Japan.

My first lesson was a subbing gig for a colleague--an on-site company class. The company was Warner Brothers. I have no clue what I did with them--sat around and talked about movies?

Some of those other firsts are either too titillating or too dull for mention here. Wink

First one was pretty bad. Does anyone enjoy "it" the first time?
-Cigarette?-Are you crazy? I wouldn't touch those stinky things with a ten foot pole!
-first drink- I was 14, my best friend was 13, she ended up drinking most of the can of beer because she lost in our "drinking game". But we both got the hiccups
-drugs- never tried dope, coke or e
-first lesson-I was actually 20 and still a college student doing a part time job at a Japanese junior high school. The Japanese teacher kept introducing me as a Canada-jin! I was steamed!
-first post on Dave's...I think it was on the North American forum about Visa factories

Oh, I forgot first kiss...I was 15, almost 16...it was terrible!

Ah, "firsts". I never forget firsts.

First drink: 11 years old, I stole a Carlsburg from the basement fridge.

First time drunk: 14 years old, on my high school football field. The drink of choice was "Labatt Maximum Ice", 7.5% alcohol. Well, it wasn't so much "of choice"...we used to wait in front of the LCBO for a kind person to buy us alcohol, and we took whatever they'd get us. That night was max ice. It wasn't very good.

First Hangover: It was off of pure Vodka. We were all camping, and I remember the morning I woke up Princess Diana was killed. At that moment, I couldn't have cared less, as I felt like death myself. That hangover lasted over two days.

First Cigarette: I still haven't tried one. I never will.

First Lesson: One month ago. Piece of cake. I thought I'd be nervous, but I wasn't.

First sh.ag: That's a little personal....it's between me and the one-legged Mongolian prostitute with Tourette's. Suffice to say, it was absolutely magical.....

Nah, just kidding....I was 18, it was with an amazing girl and we still keep in touch from time to time.

I remember my first kiss (amazing it was), my first pathetic excuse of a shag (woody allen would have been proud), I've never smoked a fag (British type) but I have smoked hash very infrequently. Perhaps, because I've never actually paid for any - keeps the habit down. My first lesson, I'm not going to forget in a hurry. I remember my first motorbike, and my first car (I do crazy, wreckless things sometimes.) Oh, and I remember my first flying lesson too. That was cool!

First cigarette: 15 years old, didn't realise that you had to inhale. People laughed at me.

First time drunk: 13 years old on a school skiing holiday in France. Free cider-tasting evening that only the adults were invited to. Me and a few of my buddies snuck in and stole some to take back to our room. Was violently sick and fell asleep in the bath.

First s.h.a.g: 16 years old at a birthday party at someone's house. Was very drunk, appalling fumbling affair. Thought that losing 'it' meant non-stop action from then on. Boy, was I wrong. Another FOUR YEARS before I had a chance to repeat the experience (and only slightly less fumbling the second time around).

First drugs experience: about 17 I think, smoked pot, assumed I was going to see pink elephants or try to jump off the nearest building. Just felt slightly sick in the end.

First lesson: teenager class in Greece. Turned up for a meeting with the boss, was told that the teacher I was replacing had done a bunk and had to go in and teach a two-hour class with no preparation or book. Terrifying experience. I learnt that there is no limit to the amount of times you can play hangman.

First posting on Dave's cafe: actually, my first posting was a job advertisement for the school I was working at. I was DoS and we were trying to recruit new teachers. Made some really appalling grammatical error in the ad ('you're' for 'your' or something like that) and got this really sarky response from a teacher saying he wouldn't work at the school if the Director of Studies had such a poor grasp of grammar! Can't remember my first 'real' post, though I suspect it may have been on the Teacher Training Forum and was probably about the pros/cons of four-week training course (let's face it, that's a pretty good bet given that 99% of posts there are on that subject).

Shag? - When I was 15, with a girl I walked to school with (although we weren't walking to school at the time). It was crap - I couldn't understand what the fuss was about.

Ciggie?, Um, 13 I think. Outside a shop - coughed my guts up. Didn't learn my lesson though, I still smoke now. A la Bill Hicks, I predominently (sp?) do it just to piss off non-smokers.

Drink? Dunno, probably with parents.

Drugs? Some hash outside school. Promptly threw up and passed out. Didn't learn my lesson then either...

First lesson? An advanced class that knew more about English than I did. Longest 2 hours of my life...

My first post on Dave's was when it was the "old style" format. Two people were having an argument about something, and I was taking someone's side. Can't remember anything else...

First post here: I asked about why the Korean forum was separate, I believe. That was in my first 3 posts, anyway.

First EFL lesson: I remember that well. A short, one to one lesson with a doctor who had recently married. She was a good conversationalist, wich was a relief.

For the rest, the answer is "never."
