Yes I know its a little bit more than 2 months away ,but its always good to plan ahead ,this is after all what we are told almost daily ,planning is the key isn't it ?
So guess what a large group of NS workers did at a certain well known private university somewhere in the Aegean region ?
They requested time off to go home for the xmas day holiday seeing as it run straight after the Kurban Bayram , no prizes for guessing what the outcome was seeing as this establishment does not even recognize the 25th of December as a holiday right for foreign workers .
So what are you hoping to do at that time ? Forget it or throw a sicky ?
I know a few people at the aforementioned institution have already bought their flight tickets , looks like some of them will be disappointed and some welllets just say they are the lucky ones or are they ? Nothing like knowing where you stand well in advance ,eh ! |

I thought in a private uni that keeping your mouth shut and passing the students was the key. |

| Does n e 1 use an iPHONE here in Turkey, and if so how successfull is it. I'm due 4 a new mobile this Xmas. Shall I go for this new-fangled piece of millenium wizardry, or is it largely wasted here in Turkey? |

| Now that we are just a few short weeks away, how many here are being allowed to use the sacfrice Bayram to get home for xmas and see their families,if I had been allowed to go it would have been the first time in 12 years. Anyone able to top that? |

| To answer the OP's question - YES it is STILL too early. Let's wait until 24 December. That is soon enough. |

| I'm going home for my first Canadian Christmas since 2001 (which in turn was my first since 1996) I haven't actually set foot in North America in 4 years so I'm quite happy to be going home even if only for a few weeks. I'll be using out 19-25th Christmas/Bayram paid holidays as well as taking a few days out of my annual holidays to be able to leave tomorrow and come back on the 30th. Yay for bacon on christmas morning! |

Now it's not too early anymore, considering that the whole of Europe is probably already going Christmas-mad.
I'm quickly flying home for the Bayram and will spend Christmas eve there, flying back first Christmas day. Could actually need some days off here to go flat hunting, but flat hunting during the Bayram won't be possible anyway.
I just hope the mad landlord has some mercy on me, he's kicked me out but not set a date... |

| All I can think right now is pork. I'm so looking forward to it! I'll eat a complete dead pig when I get home next week. |
