Hi,
I'm new to this, am seriously considering China, and would like some feedback on the better areas to teach in China....
I'm tryin to find some place not too cold (i'm from Canada, and get enough of the cold here)... so the warmer the better...
and also tryin to find some place where it will be a fun experience... i have been offered a few jobs in areas where i've managed to speak to a few people who have taught there before, and have been warned i may get really bored... and i do understand everyone has different tastes and experience, and i'm just the regular 25 year old guy that enjoys a fun night out once in a while, dancing, drinking, eating, girls, movies etc...
if anyone can give some pointers, its appreciated... thanks in advance... |

Guilin, Guangxi. Mostly warm, often hot. Quite a vibrant little city, with Yangshuo a short bus ride away. Some awesome scenery. It's a major rail junction and has a very busy airport.
Myths about being expensive only apply to tourists. Local living costs are low.
Other places in Guangxi might appeal too. Nanning, big and bustling. Beihai, a tropical beach resort. |

| Hong Kong, Macau and, to the extent that it is 'part of China', Taiwan. |

| There's a lot of places I really enjoy in China - - most of them being that lovely exit sign when I'm leaving for saner pastures. But for some reason, I always look back . . . and turn into a pillar of salt, or some such thing. |

| I enjoy the comfort of the Shanghai train station or the Beijing West train station . I bring some cardboard boxes to keep warm in and a sturdy metal mug for retrieving change from the many passers by. |

Newbies...no one's going to accuse these folks of being naive...far from it
"Cynical is as cynical does..."
No one mentioned ZhuHai...or HK's Lamma Island
Zhejiang has many-many islands off the coast of Ningbo...easily seen by plane
There are many QOL places still remaining in China.
