I changed jobs back in August. All of the paperwork went through smoothly, my ARC was adjusted, the woman at the immigration office even said my reentry permit was still valid.
In October or November, my health insurance card stopped working (while I was quite sick, of course).
My boss admitted that he'd "forgotten" to file some paperwork for my health insurance, but that he'd remedy that asap.
Today, I attempted to use my Health Card at the dentist and was told that it was "expired."
I called my boss and he admitted that rather than having sorted everything out as he'd previously claimed, he was "still having some problems" with my insurance.
I know this sounds like the general sleazy-Taiwanese-boss rant, but my boss is generally anything but that stereotype. I'm starting to wonder if there's something wrong with the school's paperwork/licensure, which is making it impossible for me to get health coverage. (It's a very small school.)
Do any of you have any good explanations for why 5 months into a job, I still don't have a functional health card? |
