I need to ship a few boxes to Qatar from Kuwait. Every place seems to ship by plane instead of ship. The problem is if it ships by plane, I think it might arrive to soon and I am unsure of an exact start date. Does anyone know of any shipping places that also provide temporary storage? Or shipping places that ship by sea and maybe wouldn't mind holding onto the boxes for a few days before shipping. Thank you for your feedback. PM's welcome. |

I always found that shipping by sea required a container full which I rarely had. If you go to one of the bigger shipping companies, most of them have "partnerships" with shippers in the other Gulf countries.
I know this is possible because I did it before... the company would come and pick up my stuff, sent it off to my new country, take it through customs and keep it for me until I arrived (or deliver it to my new employers who would hold it for me). BUT the good company that I used got out of the business of personal shipments a couple years ago.

From Kuwait to Qatar best by road. As vs says, by sea would mean in this modern world by container. In KSA there are dozens of companies offering overland carriage. I am sure there must be in Kuwait too. |

I shipped from Qatar to Q8 by road many years ago. I definitely do not advise this. Some of my things disappeared in Saudi - you have to cross the Saudi border twice at least. The driver said that they unloaded the stuff at the Saudi entry and Saudi exit and some things just disappeared. Now he could have been lying but others had the same experience. If you don't have too much stuff, send by air cargo. If you have enough for a small container - send by ship. It all depends on how much you have.
Anything you value, take with you. Good luck. |

That is good advice whenever you ship things anywhere... by any method.
If I had been male, I would have just loaded up my car and driven it down myself from Kuwait to Oman, but that is not an option for females...
